Rehn takes Eastern appeal seriously, but Council decides
The European Commission takes the request of the nine mostly Eastern European member states seriously, Olli Rehn commissioner for economic and monetary affairs told new york press yesterday. Hungary and eight other members want the costs of their earlier pension reforms to be taken into account when elaborating the new rules for the Stability and Growth Pact. However, it will be the Council to decide on the topic, so the question is whether France or Germany would applaud to such initiatives.
Parliament gives Estonia euro green ligh
According to the Convergence Report 2010 Estonia is the only one who fulfilled the criterias which are required for the euro-zone. Tallinn would join to the euro zone despite of the problems. The issues only required the green light of the Parliament which approved it today.
